Krishna Janmashtami 2018: Radha’s Shyam and Lord Krishna’s Birthday preparations are going on in the whole country. This time it is Sri Krishna’s 5245th birth anniversary. It is believed that Lord Srikrishna was born on Bhadrapada i.e. that was the Ashtami of the Krishna side of Bhado month. However, this time people are very confused about the date of Krishna Janmashtami. Janmashtami this time is being celebrated for two days because this festival will be celebrated on both the 2 September and 3rd September. Right there, Vaishnav Krishna Janmashtami is on September 3.

Now the question arises, what day you should keep the fast? The answer is September 2 i.e. Janmashtami of the first day is celebrated at the houses of the temples and Brahmins. People of the Vaishnava community will celebrate Janmasthmi on September 3, the second day. Janmashtami is the largest festival in the Braj region of north India – Mathura – where he was born, and in Vrindavan where is believed to have grown up.

This time the Ashtami will be held at 08:47 on the night of September 2 and will end at 7:20 on the 3rd date.

  1. Ashtami start date: September 08, 2018, at 8.00 pm, 47 minutes.
  2. Ashtami End date: September 3, ,2018 at 07.00 p.m. 20 minutes.
  3. Rohini Nakshatra Starts: 8.oo pm, 48 minutes on 2 September.
  4. Rohini Nakshatra ends: 8.00 pm 5 minutes, On September 3.

Nishith Kaal Pujan timing: September 2, 2,018 at night from 11.00 pm 57 minutes to 12.00 hours. Passage of the fast: after 8 pm on the night of September 3. Vaishnav Krishna Janmashtami is on 3 September and the fasting pass will be on the next day i.e. on September 4 before sunrise 6:13.

Janmashtami Vrat details and Pooja Vidhi

Those devotees who want to keep Janmashtami fast, they should eat only meal a day before. After bathing on the day of Janmashtami, devotees can open the fast after the completion of Rohini Nakshatra and Ashtami dates. After the completion of the resolution of the fasting day, Krishna’s worship is followed at Nishit Kaal at midnight.

ॐ तमअद्भुतं बालकम् अम्‍बुजेक्षणम्, चतुर्भुज शंख गदाद्युधायुदम्।
श्री वत्‍स लक्ष्‍मम् गल शोभि कौस्‍तुभं, पीताम्‍बरम् सान्‍द्र पयोद सौभंग।।
महार्ह वैढूर्य किरीटकुंडल त्विशा परिष्‍वक्‍त सहस्रकुंडलम्।
उद्धम कांचनगदा कङ्गणादिभिर् विरोचमानं वसुदेव ऐक्षत।।
ध्यायेत् चतुर्भुजं कृष्णं,शंख चक्र गदाधरम्।
पीताम्बरधरं देवं माला कौस्तुभभूषितम्।।
ॐ श्री कृष्णाय नम:।  ध्‍यानात् ध्‍यानम् समर्पयामि।।
