Easter 2018: Date, Importance and Significance

Easter is one among the most important days of Christians. They celebrate this day with great zeal and enthusiasm. This day is marked as the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who rose from the dead. This day is marked as a very auspicious day for the Christians. Jesus Christ was crucified on the Good Friday and was buried in a grave. When on the third day the disciples of Jesus Christ visited his grave, they found the stone rolled away and the grave empty. It was believed that Jesus Christ walked out of the grave. This year Good Friday was celebrated on March 30 whereas the Easter will fall on April 1.

Jesus Christ was condemned to death by Pontius Pilate, a Roman perfect, at the behest of the Pharisees. The day of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is called Good Friday. In varying ways, all four of the gospels in the New Testament state that those who believe in Jesus death and resurrection are given the gift of eternal life. Easter symbolises the win of the Jesus Christ from death. Easter always did not symbolise Christ’s resurrection from the dead. The meaning of Easter was quite different what is today observed by Christians.

Easter was considered as a day of Renewal and rebirth. This festival is celebrated in the early spring. The meaning of Easter was changed to reflect its new Christian orientation. No specific day is there for the celebration of Easter. Just as Jesus Christ was born on December 25 but for Easter, there is no specific day. In the Bible also there is no mention of the date Christ was resurrected. Easter will fall on April 1. After three days of the Good Friday the day of Easter will fall. Each year has different Easter date celebration. This year it will fall on April 1.
