Dhanteras is observed as the first day of five-days of Diwali festival. It falls on the 13th day known as Tryodashi of the Hindu Kartik month. People in Hindu religion believe that on the day of Dhanteras goddess Lakshmi came out along with Lord Kuber (God of wealth) during the churning of the milky ocean. Devotees worship of Lord Kuber and goddess Lakshmi and believe that goddess Lakshmi will stay in their house on Dhanteras. Lakshmi pujan should be done during pradosh Kaal which starts after sunset. Devotees also observe fast on dhanteras and do a puja in the evening while offering seven grains to goddess Lakshmi and seek her blessings.
