Chaitra Navratri had already begun and today is sixth day of Chaitra Navratri. It is usually seen that devotees of Goddess Durga keep fast and for the blessings of Goddess Durga each day of Navratri had different meaning and rituals. Each day of Navratri is devoted to the nine incarnation of Goddess Durga. Goddess Katyayani is worshipped on this day. People who observe fast devote the day to her. Many different rituals are performed on this day. Goddess Katyayani is usually worshipped by students. She is the deity of knowledge and wisdom. It is observed that during this people observe fast.
On the sixth day of Navratri, the day is usually observed that Goddess Katyayani the sixth avatar of Goddess Durga. It was seen in the idols that Goddess Katyayani was having four sides and she was seen on the lion everytime. The idols were having her image on the lion. She holds lotus and sword in her hand. It was usually seen that she was worshipped with all the rituals. Each day of navratri different color clothes are worn and each day has different rituals and customs. These Navratri are mostly famous between Hindu culture and each day of Navratri Hindu people celebrate and perform all the rituals.
On this day, the idols are offered flowers and fruits. Some home-made food is also offered to her on the sixth day of Navratri. The idols are usually washed with honey and milk. The sixth day of Navratri is usually seen worshipping the Goddess. Goddess Durga has nine forms. She is the sixth form of Goddess Durga. Each day different rituals and customs are performed. Each day has different significance.
