Chaitra Navratri 2018 : Fasting Rules during the Navratri

Chaitra Navratri 2018 will start on March 18 and will end by March 26. During these Navratri, many people do fasting and worship Goddess Durga. In order to keep fasting certain rules are to be followed. Some people keep Navratri fast for nine days and for keeping these fast certain rules are to be followed. People have to follow certain rules. This is a very holy festival. All the nine days have certain auspicious significance. These are usually celebrated when there is a change in the season. These nine days fast has certain rules of do and don’t to be followed by the people.

Things that should be followed during the Navratri fast :

One who is keeping the fast must take bath regularly and that too before 9 am by it is preferred to take bath during the early morning. The person who is fasting has to eat Sattvik food only once in a day. Offerings should be made to the Goddess regularly. Fruits and flowers are usually preferred. A person must do Puja regularly in the morning and evening. One must go to Temple once a day and offer prayer to the deity. One must change clothes regularly and must wear new clothes regularly. Prayers should be made to remove all the past sins of the life.

Things that should not be done during the Navratri fast :

One must not cut nails, hairs during the fast. The person should avoid stitching. One must not use abusive language during the fast. One must not wear shoes to the puja room and must avoid making the house dirty. One must not eat at few intervals.

The person who is keeping the fast must follow all the above things and must keep all the things in mind. Keeping a fast is an auspicious thing that one must do.
