Bhai Dooj, Bhaiya Dooj Bhau Beej, Bhai Phota, Bhai Teeka, Bhai Tika or Bhathru Dwithiya is a popular Hindu festival in India. This festival signifies the love bond between a brother and sister as similar to the Raksha Bandhan festival. On this day, sisters pray for their brothers to have long and happy lives by performing Tika rituals. Brothers bring gifts and sweets for their sisters and make them happy. Some sisters observe fast on Bhai Dooj festival for their brothers and pray to the Gods for better future and health of their brothers. Brothers went to their Sister’s house for the festival of Bhai Dooj. sisters put a sindoor on their brother’s forehead. Then they chant mantras and shlokas while doing aarti of their brothers and pray for their long life and brothers give money and gifts to them.
