World environment day is being observed. For few its a celebration for fulfilling their commitments and for many it has become a journey of enlightenment, towards what world in current time is facing due to corona pandemic. Enigma and charm of making resolution is lost, but resolutions of people have become more stronger. This year bio-diversity has been earmarked for theme, concerning many events including Global Covid19 pandemic, forest fires in Brazil, United States and Australia and locust infestation across South Asia and East Africa. Globally, people have more wise and understand nature is hitting back due to ecological imbalance.
In 1972, UN General assembly in stockholm conference on human environment declared 5th June as World environment day, resulting based on discussion on hum-environment interaction. UN also introduced “Only one earth” concept for inculcating idea of one world.
On the occasion of World Environment Day, PM Modi in a tweet expressed solidarity for preservation, “On #World Environment Day, we reiterate our pledge to preserve our planet’s rich biodiversity. Let us collectively do whatever possible to ensure the flora and fauna with whom we share the Earth thrive. May we leave an even better planet for the coming generations.”
