World Book Fair to begin in Delhi from Tomorrow, online tickets are also available

45th World Book Fair, which will be held every year in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, is going to start from Tomorrow, January 6. The nine-day fair will last on14th January. The fair will be inaugurated by Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar. Environmentalist Sunita Narayan and EU ambassador Tomasz Kozlovsky will be special guests. This time in the fair the main focus will be on issues related to environment and climate change. The theme pavilion in the World Book Fair organized in collaboration with the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) and National Book Trust (NBT) will provide special attention to issues related to climate change, global warming, water pollution and other environment-related issues.

NBT Chairman Baldev Sharma said, “Environment is a matter which needs more attention. We need to focus more on this subject and to create greater awareness of our better future and environmentally friendly materials such as bamboo. The theme pavilion has been specially made using the cane, jute and others.”

Around 800 publishers from across the country will reach in the book fair. Moreover, the fair is organized in around 30,000 square meters which will have more than 1,500 bookstalls. The world book fair will include the European Union (EU) as a guest of the country. The EU’s Pavilion will display rich and dynamic European culture and literature. Members of the EU will display selected books in English and other European languages. Apart from this, theme-related panel discussions, workshops, children’s programs, screening of short films and special picture exhibitions will be organized along with cultural and musical programs.

Books on many languages such as, Assamese, Bangla, English, Gujarati, Sindhi, Maithili, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Oriya, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu will be displayed on the stalls at the fair.

The time of fair is from 11 am to 8 pm. Tickets for children will be Rs 20 and Rs 30 for adults. Tickets can also be found online and also available on more than 50 metro stations. The world book fair entry will be from Gate No. 1, 8 and 10 of Pragati Maidan. At Hall No. 7 ATM vans will be available for the fair.
