Vinayaka Chaturthi 2017 will be celebrated for eleven days this year. It is an auspicious festival that celebrated all over Indian in different ways. According to the Hindu mythology and religion, Ganesh utsav marks the celebration of Lord Ganesh Birthday. Ganesh Chaturthi festival celebrated with great fanfare for ten days but this year the celebration will be marked for 11 days because of the Dasmati date. Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the biggest festivals of Maharashtra that celebrated with more devotionally and excitingly in Maharashtra.

Vinayaka Chaturthi is Hindu festival to honor Lord Ganesha birthday who is the younger son of great Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. All over India Ganesha is known with 108 different names and as the lord of arts, sciences along with the deva of wisdom. While popularly he is known as Ganesh, Ganapati, and Vinayaka. As per Hindu mythology, Lord Ganesha honored at the of rituals and any ceremonies as he is considered as the God of beginnings. Hindu says that Lord Shiva blessed Ganesha that everyone prays for Lord Ganesha before any god at the starting of any prayer, hawan, ceremony Pooja or function.

Lord Ganesha is a symbol of wisdom and good luck. And worshipped before the beginning every festive occasion in Hindu religion. Ganesh Utsav preparations begin before a month where families gear up to welcome their favorite Lord with decorations, sweets and signature mithai modak a month before. People celebrate this festival with family and friends by immersing the idol of Lord Ganesha in the sea with bells, drums and music that is popularly known as Visarjan. In an emotional moment, devotees bid farewell to Lord Ganesha and request him to return again the next year.
