Three properties of Underworld Don, Dawood Ibrahim, sold to SBUT

Interpol Most wanted Underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim’s three properties were sold on Monday in the auction and won by the Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust (SBUT). The auctioned properties of underworld don include Shabnam Guest House, six flats in Damarwala building and a restaurant Rounaq Afroz. Three properties of Dawood or Doud Ibrahim and main accused in the 1993 serial bomb blasts were auctioned at the Indian Merchant Chamber office by the Ministry of Finance, under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (SAFEMA). Reportedly the Rounaq Afroz restaurant located in bhindi bazaar which is also known as Delhi Zaika was sold for Rs 4.53 crore and property in Damarwala was sold for Rs 3.53 crore while Shabnam Guest House sold in Rs 3.52 crore to SBUT.

The decision for bidding is taken due to Ongoing Bhindi Bazar redevelopment program, As all the three properties fall under our  Bhendi Bazaar. The Creaky building is not safe for the people living around them SBUT participated in the auction says the spokesperson.

Earlier auctions of DON’s property got a colder response from the bidder due to the obvious reasons for the fear factor. This time Authorities have done the bidding in the phased manner. Prime accused of 1993 Mumbai Serial Blasts and the most wanted underworld DON Dawood Ibrahim fled from India in 1990. After that, his properties were seized under SAFEMA (Smuggling and Foreign Exchange Manipulation ACT).
