State start-up conference in Delhi

A conference to discuss developing congenial start-up ecosystem in the states, including incubation facilities, is to be held here on Tuesday, an official statement said.

“A framework for ranking states and union territories on the basis of initiatives taken by them to promote start-ups will also be discussed,” at the Second State Startup Conference Abeing organised by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, a Commerce Ministry statement said.

It said the discussions will centre chiefly on four important themes — governance reforms to be undertaken by states, incubation facilities, role of states in setting up funds and making regulations easier for budding entrepreneurs.

The conference will be attended by senior officials from states, union territories, incubators, accelerators, funding agencies, venture funds, angel investors and startups, it added.
