Severe Smog in Delhi, Punjab and Haryana has again led to the massive accident on Bathinda-Chandigarh Highway. As per the reports, around 8 students have died in the Bathinda accident today. This accident took place after the speeding truck lost control in the smog. According to the witnesses, the students were waiting for an alternative vehicle after their bus is broke down near Chetak Park on the outskirts of Bathinda city. Suddenly, the truck rammed a Tata sumo which was parked on the side and then plunged into the student standing on the roadside. There were around fourteen students who were waiting for another vehicle.
These students were quickly taken to the Civil Hospital for treatment. As per the reports, out of fourteen around eight students were died on the spot while injured were quickly rushed to the nearest Hospital. The primary reason for this terrific accident was severe smog that covered all the region also reduced the visibility. After the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh tweeted pained to hear about the death of eight students in Bathinda-Chandigarh Highway accident. Also, he directed the Bathinda MLA and minister MS Badal to monitor rescue and relief operations.
However, Yamuna expressway Highway has also faced such kind of accident in the morning where around 24 cars and buses crashed on the spot. And no casualties have noticed. Low visibility across the Delhi, Punjab and Haryana is somehow causing severe accidents and difficulties for the people. So, the government need to take some emergency moves toward this severe smog.
