A motorcycle expedition of NSG commandos across the country to commemorate the NSG’s 33 years of service and to spread the message of collective responsibility towards fighting terror was flagged off on Thursday by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju.
The Minister of State for Home Affairs flagged off the expedition, comprising commandos of National Security Guard (NSG) riding 15 newly launched Royal Enfield motorcycles, at the NSG’s Manesar base camp in the district.
“The expedition team will traverse major cities, including NSG’s regional hubs at Gandhinagar, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata during its 7,000-km odyssey to spread the message of a collective responsibility in the fight against terrorism,” NSG Director General Sudhir Pratap Singh said.
A two-day National Canine Seminar began at the Manesar camp on Thursday, wherein national and international security experts would discuss techniques of dog training and strategies to deploy canines in counter-terrorism and insurgency situations.
More than 250 dignitaries from defence forces, central armed police forces and state police and eminent speakers from the US, France and Israel are to participate.
