Republic Day 2018: check alternative routes to commute during Republic Day parade

Delhi Police has issued certain traffic advisories for the full dressed rehearsal parade that is taking place today. The practice has started from morning 9:50 am. from Vijay Chowk to Red Fort. The route of parade is Vijay Chowk to Rajpath , then to India Gate followed by Tilak Marg, then to Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and then to Red Fort. Traffic on certain route where the parade will take place is restricted for vehicles. No vehicles will be allowed to enter the Rajpath from January 25 afternoon 3 pm till the time the republic day event ends.

Rafi Marg, Janpath and Man Singh Road will b closed till the parade ends. The C-hexagon India gate will be closed for traffic from 2 am on January 26 and will open once the parade crosses the Tilak Marg. Tilak Marg will be closed from 10 am on January 26. No traffic will be there on January 25 on the routes of South Avenue T-point, Tyag Raj Marg, Man Singh road, Akbar Road, Dr R P road, Red Cross road, Sansad Marg, Imtiaz Khan road, Rakab Ganj road, Pt. Pant Marg, Church road up to the Church Road-North Avenue T-Point.

Traffic will be restricted from 6 am till the parade ends in areas bound by the Kautilya Marg, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam road, ‘Q’-Point, Humayun road, Subramania Bharti Marg, Mathura road, Bhagwan Dass road, Mandi House, Feroze Shah road, Tolstoy Marg, Sansad Marg, Patel Chowk, Ashoka road, Baba Kharak Singh Marg.  Traffic from South and East Delhi towards New Delhi railway station will be allowed on Mother Teresa Crescent and Boulevard Road through the ISBT over bridge. No traffic will be allowed till the parade ends.
