President Ram Nath Kovind has approved implementation of Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir, a day after BJP discontinued its support to Mehbooba Mufti’s People’s Democratic Party, because of the inability to curb violence and terrorism in the valley. NN Vohra, the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir since 2008, is going to take the leadership for the state as per the rule. He has called a security meeting at 2:30 PM today, to discuss the issues of deteriorating situation in the valley, and how to stop the terrorists from spreading their influence across people and damaging the lives and property in the state.
The Ramzan ceasefire has ended, as Union minister, Rajnath Singh declared last week, because of the 100 percent spike in the instances of violence committed by the terrorists. He held a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and it was decided that the forces will continue their operations.
He tweeted that even as the army had kept the orders in mind, the terrorists had repeatedly tried to damage the lives of civilians and the soldiers. A day before yesterday, four terrorists were killed in an encounter in Bandipora. It seems that the reason of the break in the relationship between the two parties is centres denial of continuing the ceasefire. The violence in the valley has been controversial because of the casualties of the civilians. There is also the matter of stonepelters. People who throw stones at the army, and cause a lot of injury, the soldiers, who need to protect themselves, usually fire at the growing mass, which has led to the death of people. The new decisions are going to focus on the security, and the operations being carried out by the forces to eradicate the insurgents and restore peace to the region again.
