Linking the Aadhaar Card with Pan card deadline has been extended by the government . Here is a good news for the all who haven’t linked their Aadhaar with (PAN) Permanent Account Number yet as now the last date to link your Pan with Aadhaar has been extended to 31 August 2017. The government has extended the deadline for filing ITR or income tax return to August 5 while citing difficulties that have been faced by assesses due to overloading of the e-filing website. They also extended the last date of linking Aadhaar to Pan till 31 August.
The government decided to make it mandatory to link up your Pan with Aadhaar Card for filing ITR from July 1. However, this is only mandatory for the people who have Aadhaar Card and Pan Card both. The government have initiated this step for the e-filing of income tax returns. And the finance minister tweeted that “it is sufficient to quote Aadhaar or acknowledgement No. for having applied for Aadhaar in e-filing website”. Also, “actual linking of PAN with Aadhaar can be done subsequently, but any time before 31st August 2017”.
The person who needs to link up their Aadhaar card to Pan card has to follow these easy steps. You can link up your Aadhaar with Pan through SMS service. The Sms based service provided to achieve the linking by sending it to a number 567678 or 56161 with format UIDPAN<12-digit Aadhaar><10-digit PAN>. You can also easily link your Aadhaar to Pan by visiting and filling up all required details on the government website service e-filling i.e., incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. So don’t wait just visit e-filing or SMS to link you Aadhaar to Pan before 31st August.
