Padmavati Controversy: Suraj Pal Amu BJP Haryana resigns from his position

Suraj Pal Amu, who was the chief media coordinator of BJP’s Haryana unit has now resigned from his position, because of the apparent disappointment at the Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar’s refusal to meet Karni Sena and to ban the movie, Padmavati. Suraj Pal had also put on a bounty of 10 crores on Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the director of the movie and Deepika Padukone’s heads. He wants a nation wide ban for the movie, even though he has not watched it yet, but claims that the movie has hurt the Rajputi sentiments. The movie has now been banned in five states in India, even though the Supreme Court told the people in power to refrain from commenting on the movie and taking any steps against it before the CBFC issues a certification.

Suraj Pal Amu, who has been vocal in his protest against the moive has said that Deepika Padukone is one of his favorite actresses and he liked her work in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.

Meanwhile, the government has summoned Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Prasoon Joshi to present their views on the movie, before a bench presided by 30 people who will be the discussing the fate of the move and try to come up with a probable solution.
