Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh: 9 CRPF personnel lose their lives

9 CRPF personnel lost their lives in the Naxal attack in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The Maoists blew up a mine protection vehicle or MPV. Other four were injured during the assault. The encounter had begun in the morning, with the especially equipped, Cobra forces, that are trained to tackle the Maoists in Kistaram area of Sukma. The CRPF party was traveling to the spot when the attack too place. Those four who have been injured were taken to the Hospital in Raipur, while The Director-General CRPF, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar will be visiting Chhattisgarh. There isn’t the first instance in which the Maoists have staged such attacks, as they tried another assault in the morning as well, but then fled the spot when the CRPF forces retaliated.

Rajnath Singh, the Union Minister, tweeted about the incident, “Today’s IED blast in Sukma, Chhattisgarh is deeply distressing. I bow to each and every security personnel who attained martyrdom while serving the nation.”

Kolkata Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee also tweeted her condolenses toward the victims, “Deeply saddened at the news coming from . Lives of at least nine CRPF jawans lost. My heartfelt homage to all the martyrs. Strength to their families. Jai Hind.”

The attack has been seen as a violent answer to other encounter that have been conducted in the Sukma area. People have reacted very strongly against the attack, and questioned the government and their actions about the incident. There will surely be more statements about the incident from politicians, and what should be done as the situation worsens in the area.
