Navratri 2017 the most auspicious festival of Maa Durga is finally here. Today is the first day of the Navaratri festival that celebrated by Hindus. It is celebrated on the first Chaitra month according to the Hindu Panchang of the new year. While in Ashwin month it is celebrated on Shardhiya Navaratri. This auspicious festival celebrated twice a year in Chaitra and Ashwin month that is the very popular festival of the Hindu Calendar.

Navratri is the festival that celebrates the power of Goddess Durga. It is a nine days long festival that empowers women. It is celebrated on the first date of Ashwin month since the Sanatan times as the festival of Goddess Durga. On this special day, devotees worship Goddess Durga idol for nine days. It is believed that Lord Rama was on the shore of the sea when Navratris had started. After nine of worship, Lord Rama conquered Ravana and got a victory by killing Ravana.

Therefore, after Navratri Hindu devotees celebrate Dussehra on the tenth day in the shardy Navratra. Dussehra is also an auspicious festival that marks the victory of Lord Rama over Truth, it is celebrated every year on the tenth day of Navratras.
