Prime Minister Narendra Modi held his monthly, Mann Ki Baat radio program. He inaugurated the first phase of Delhi-Meerut Expressway today. He began his talk, by recounting the sense of adventure that some people possess has led them to fulfill many achievements, like climbing the Mount Everest. He congratulated Maharashtra, Ajeet and Deeya Bajaj, Sangeeta Bahl and a BSF contingent, all of whom have climbed the impervious mountain. He also lauded the women who were aboard INVS Tirani and congratulated them for bringing more recognition for the country and raising respect for Navy. He also paid tribute to Pandit Nehru in his speech.
He then talked about his Fitness program, and mentioned how popular it has gotten, as everyone is saying, Hum Fit Toh India Fit. He asked children of India to spend their times outside, playing traditional games, as they’re capable of expressing themselves through sports.
He said that traditional games are more likely to enhance the logical thinking of an individual, and added that the young generation is going to benefit from this program. He announced that India is going to host, World Environment Day programme this year, and it is the duty of human beings to live in harmony with the environment. He noted the weather changes that have been the cause of so much havoc in north India and told that India is ready to do anything to curb make the environment healthier by planting more trees. Modi also remembered the freedom fighter, Veer Savarkar who was responsible for waging the first battle for the independence of the country. It was also known as the Mutiny of Sepoy. He reminded the people that on June 21st the world is going to celebrate the 4th Yoga Day.
