Prime Minister Narendra Modi today visited China, for an informal Summit and met President Xi Jinping, amid a colorful cultural program. The two talked for a bit, supported by interpreters. Now, Modi has said that the country should be proud that he’s maybe the first Prime Minister for whom the leader of China has come out to receive. He also said that he’s making efforts to build a new India, too and hoped that India will also be able to host an informal summit for the Chinese . However, Rahul Gandhi was quick to attack him on Twitter, as he wrote, “Dear PM, saw the live TV feed of your “No Agenda” China visit. You look tense. A quick reminder: 1. DOKLAM2. China Pakistan Eco Corridor passes through POK. That’s Indian territory. India wants to hear you talk about these crucial issues. You have our support.”
This could be a veiled attack on the PMO for tweeting about the no agenda visit to India, when there has been pressure, both political and from the public, to clear the matter of Doklam conflict of last year.
Xi Jingping, according to a Chinese radio, has said that he hopes the informal summit will strengthen the bond between the two countries, and open new ways for Bilateral ties between them. Modi stressed that China and India have the total of 40% population from the world, it is their responsibility to get rid of the problems that plague them.
