Naraka Chaturdashi is celebrated as the second day of the five-day Diwali festival. It is also known as Choti Diwali, Kali Chaudas, Roop Chaudas or Naraka Niwaran Chaturdashi. Every year it is celebrated on the 14th day of Krishan Paksha Kartik month. It is believed that on the day of Naraka Chaturdashi Goddess Kali and Lord Krishna killed Demon Narakasura. Devotees worship Goddess Kali and pray for their good health and wealth. People wake up early in the morning before sunrise and apply Ubattan ( a mixture of til oil, herbs, and flowers) on the body and take Abhyang snan (bath). Some people observe fast for the whole day and open their fast in evening after Maa Kali Puja.
