Nadda, Virbhadra lay foundation stone of two colleges

In the run-up to the assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Wednesday jointly laid online foundation stone of two medical colleges from Shimla.

Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College in Chamba town and Dr Y.S. Parmar Medical College in Nahan town are to be set up with an outlay of Rs 452 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said a budget provision of Rs 71 crore has been made by the state for providing 300 free medicines to patients.

Virbhadra Singh said the government has a target of administering rubella measles vaccine to 20 lakh children in the state. A total of 13 lakh children have been administered the dose.

Assembly elections are to be held in Himachal Pradesh later this year.
