Mukul Roy Trinamool Congress leader resigns as TMC MP from Rajya Sabha today

Mukul Roy Trinamool Congress leader tendered his resignation from Rajya Sabha after he was suspended from the party. On Wednesday Mukul Roy met Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu for his Resignation as TMC MP from Rajya Sabha. Mukul Roy is the powerful close aide of the West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee. After 20 years the Right Hand of Mamta Banerjee Mukul Roy has parted away from the party. As per the reports, Mukul Roy is officially set to join BJP. He also met the BJP leaders the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Kailash Vijayvargiya last week. Mukul Roy fallout with Mamta Banerjee in the backdrop of Narada and Saradha scams in 2015.

According to the sources, Last month the second in command of the Trinamool Congress after Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee, the Roy was suspended for six years for the anti-party activities. And also TMC claimed him of socially mixing with the BJP. So, maybe these all will be the reason of his resignation.

However, there is no more information revealed about why he is resigning or will he join BJP. On Monday Rajya Sabha MP Roy said that finally, he going to hand over his resignation to the Vice President and then he will tell people of this country that why he decided to end his long political innings with Trinamool Congress, the party which was founded by him along with others.
