Mayawati Rajya Sabha resignation is emotional gimmick: BJP

Parliament Monsoon Session day two had a dramatic turnout in the event as BSP supremo Mayawati tendered her resignation to the Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari when she was not allowed to complete her statement on the alleged atrocities against Dalits on Tuesday. BJP leaders called Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati’s resignation to Rajya Sabha a political stunt and said that she is just trying to create an emotional gimmick. On the other side, Lalu Yadav defended her saying it was a bold decision. BSP chief Mayawati blamed the ruling benches for her voice stifling by shouting on her and she also blamed Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien chair for restricting her impromptu speech over the issue of atrocities against Dalits in the Shabbirpur village of Uttar Pradesh.

In Rajya Sabha officials said the final decision in the matter rested with the chairman. Lalu Prasad Yadav overflowed with numbers of tweets pointing out BJP. He said that “If a representative of Dalits is not allowed to speak in Parliament only on their own issue, then this is an insult to democracy and constitution. We will fight hard.” He further added that “BJP is endeavouring to implement the dangerous agenda of the Sangh and ending the Constitution”. He said that BJP leader tried to suppress her voice and they ensured that she does not speak. This is because in frustration she resigned and it was a very bold decision. While on another hand, BJP and other leaders said that it is a political stunt with a planned script. And the tenure of Mayawati was going to end after the winter session anyways & she just wants to create emotional gimmicks.
