Man’s headless body found in Delhi, three held

Three persons have been arrested for killing a man by severing his head here, police said on Tuesday.

The headless body of Jawed, 24, was found in a field about one km from his house in Samaypur Badli area of Rohini in the early hours of Monday, Deputy Commissioner of Police Rishi Pal said.

The head was found in another field later on Monday, police said.

The accused Renjith, 18, Rahul, 22, and Julab, 23, all residents of Rohini, were arrested in connection with the murder on Monday night. Pal said two other accused were on the run.

The DCP said Jawed apparently tried to have a relationship with one of the absconding accused’s wife and then with Renjith’s sister and this led them to murder him.

On Sunday night, Jawed, who worked in a factory in Siraspur, left home after he received a phone call from Renjith, who was known to him.

Jawed, along with Renjith and the other accused, then got drunk in a field and later the accused murdered him using a knife.

“The accused decapitated him (Jawed) so that the body won’t be identified,” Pal said.

The officer added that Renjith even came to the spot while the investigation was going on, to keep track of the inquiry, while the other accused went to work.

Police said that none of the accused have a criminal history and it was a planned revenge killing.
