After a very long wait of 10 years, the Louvre Abu Dhabi finally arrived in the public at on Saturday. Traditional Emirati dancers, a fly-past by an Etihad A380 and a planned light show marked the day in the only universal museum in the Arab world. As everyone is excited about Louvre Abu Dhabi, the thousands of people came through the galleries on the first day. All online tickets were sold out, for the opening day, but throngs of people queued to snap up for the tickets available on the door.
While starting at 10 AM the director of Louvre Abu Dhabi, Manuel Rabaté made a presentation to two girls, Kiyana and Kalyssa Jiwani, who were first in line.
Emirati student, Ameena Al Hosani told to the gulf news “I booked my tickets in advance, and just had to be here today. The Louvre Abu Dhabi truly offers a rich cultural experience that everyone should experience.”
People with their families streamed through the plaza, café, boutique, and galleries. Many architectures came to see the amazing art on Saturday, “It’s a really great idea to have the art displayed chronologically. The museum is a piece of art. The dome is very beautiful – it’s magical,” French project designer said.
The beautiful art museum takes £ 1billion to make. There are more than 620 pieces and artefacts on display. The museum was designed by architect Jean Nouvel.
HH Sheikh Mohammed said in his official tweet,”The dome of the Louvre Abu Dhabi contains a collection of astounding art collated from various cultures over thousands of years. The light it shines beckons civilizations to come together again in this cradle of humanity.”
