Kejriwal brings relief to slum clusters by inaugurating 1,206 community toilets

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, inaugurated 1,206 community toilets for 36 slum clusters across the city on Wednesday. Toilets and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has been on peak from the very long time. Also, the issues of making and maintaining toilets took more hype and created buzz when the cause was represented through a Akshay Kumar starrer movie, “Toilet – ek prem katha”

Today, while addressing the public at JJ Basti Din Dayal Camp, Kejriwal said that slum dwellers can now live with dignity. The Chief Minister said that 12,000 toilets have been constructed since the Aam Aadmi Party came to power and 7,000 more will be constructed.

Kejriwal also talked about the women’s safety. Going in open areas and grounds instead of using toilets has always been unsafe and problematic. He said, ” women are now safe and by March, I believe no one in Delhi will have to attend nature’s call in the open and people will live with dignity. He was also impressed by the work done by the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board. Thanking their officials, the Delhi CM was happy to see that toilets constructed in the past are well maintained.
