Karnataka Elections 2018: Fight between Bangarappa bro’s for Soraba seat, former CM is quite

Former state Chief Minister S. Bangarappa’s sons Kumar Bangarappa and Madhu Bangarappa are challenging each other in the Karnataka assembly elections 2018. Both brothers have been the celebrities of the film world of South India. The Bangarappa brothers, who came to politics to take over the legacy of the father from the film world, are coming from different parties to the elections. The BJP has nominated the elder brother Kumar Bangarappa from the Soraba assembly seat of Shimoga district, and his younger brother Madhu Bangarappa is also in the same fray from Soraba with Janata Dal (S). As the date of the Karnataka election is coming closer, the competition is getting more thrilling. In addition to the main party, BJP and Congress, every formula is being adapted to spread each other among other parties, including Janata Dal (S).

The thrill of the tragedy of politics is that the two brothers are knocking on one seat against each other. Voting for 224 seats in Karnataka will be cast on May 12 and results will be announced on May 15. The dispute between the Bangarappa brothers is not new. Both brothers have come in front of each other in the 2004 elections, but the elder brother achieved the victory.

Kumar Bangarappa started the campaign after getting the ticket from BJP. He told that his brother has done nothing in this area while being a legislator. At the same time Congress also completely ignored the Soraba. It has a lot of resentment in both the Congress and the Janata Dal (S) in the public. Madhu Bangarappa says that Soraba’s public has already been denied him. Since he joined the BJP, he also lost the remaining faith of the people. Madhu said that after losing the election in 2013, Kumar has not even been in this area, so he has completely lost his relations with the people here.

Previous History

Kumar Bangarappa has worked in Kannada and Telugu films. In the 80-90s, he was known as an action hero. He worked in nearly two dozen films. Kumar stepped in politics in 1996. In the bye-election of Soraba seat in Shimoga District in 1996, he won and represented his father. Kumar’s father S. Bangarappa was a lawmaker for 7 consecutive times from 1967 to 1994 and when he was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1996, he left the seat and opened the way for his son to come to politics. In 1999, Kumar was elected MLA from this seat again on Congress ticket. Not only that, he won for the third time in 2004 and became a minister in SM Krishna’s government. In the 2004 elections, he had won the victory by defeating his younger brother Madhu Bangarappa.

Madhu Bangarappa is a younger brother of Kumar Bangarappa and has been a filmmaker before coming to politics. In some films, he also worked as a hero. Madhu Bangarappa contested on Janata Dal (S) ticket from the Soraba seat and defeated BJP’s Halappa and was elected legislator in 2013. This time he is again going to the election on Janata Dal (S) ticket.
