Kanna LakshmiNarayana apppointed as Andhra Pradesh BJP President

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Kanna Lakshminarayan as the State unit President of Andhra Pradesh. This information is also tweeted by Andhra Pradesh BJP’s official Twitter account. Last week Kannan Laxminarayan had met senior BJP leader Somu Veer Raju and other people who had met him in the headlines of leaving the party. The BJP leaders had met with them for about 30 minutes. Kanna Laxminarayana expressed happiness over being elected as BJP President of Andhra Pradesh. Kanna said,”that he will make efforts for the development of Andhra Pradesh. Party President Amit Shah and PM Narendra Modi will never let the faith break.  Apart from this, Somu Veer Raju, Member of Legislative Council of Andhra Pradesh has been made the Convenor of Election Organizing Committee. Before this, former union minister D. Purandeswari left the Congress and joined BJP.

D Purandeswari was also included in the race for the post of state president. But Baji Kanna was at the hands of Lakshminarayan. In the last few days, the sitting PCC President had resigned after the interference of the BJP and the Telugu Desam Party. It may be recalled that the BJP state chief’s position has been vacant ever since MP K Hari Babu suddenly tendered his resignation on April 17. With the state president position gaining significance in the aftermath of the TDP-BJP split, several names including Pydikondala Manikyala Rao, D Purandeswari, Somu Veerraju and others did the rounds. However, it is learnt that the BJP central leadership favoured Kanna Lakshminarayana’s candidature given his ability to take on the TDP, and prior experience.
