A Terrorist, who hasn’t been identified yet, was shot down in Budgam district of Kashmir by the security forces today. A woman was also injured during the encounter. The security forces got information about the presence of terrorist forces in the Khan Mohalla of Arizal in Beerwah area of the district. They began a cordon and search operation in the area during the night. The terrorists, who were hiding in a house, tried to run away, and launched an assault on the forces with guns blazing. The forces retaliated against the firing, and were able to kill one terrorist in the situation.
The forces also discovered fire arms and ammunition from the site where the Terrorists had been hiding and the officials have said that identity of the terrorist is still being clarified from the sources. The woman, who was injuring in the encounter, was taken to hospital for treatment and it was reported that her condition is stable now. Cordon and search is still being conducted in the area to weed out any more terrorists who might be hiding in the houses.
Update: According to some reports the name of the terrorist is Shafat Wani R/0 Wagoora Kreeri, and has been identified as being part of the terrorist group, Baramulla of Lashkar terror group.
