A Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist was killed in the encounter by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday, reports said. The security forces had launched a search operation based on information about the presence of two terrorists in Pulwama district. 50 Rashtriya Rifles, J&K Police and 110 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have been carried out this operation. Inspector General of Police Muneer Khan said that the killed terrorist was a member of the Jaish-e-Mohammed and also the jihadist group of Kashmir. The 47-year-old Noor Mohammad Tantray aka Noora Trali, a resident of Tral in south Kashmir had joined the group in July this year according to the reports. He was also involved in an attack of October on the BSF camp near Srinagar airport.
Noor Mohammad was arrested in 2003 by Delhi police and sentenced to life by a POTA court in 2011. It is a major success for the security forces that the top commander of Jaish e Mohammad was killed. Munir Khan also said, “Noor Mohammad had become a headache for us because of his terror. We launched a joint operation in the Samboora village and this morning his body was recovered after an encounter.” It is also said by the officials that the security forces are still searching for the other terrorist.
Meanwhile, four Indian soldiers, Major Prafulla Ambadas Moharkar, Lance Naik Gurmail Singh and Sepoy Pargat Singh were killed in ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops on Saturday.
Also the last month, in Pulwama another terrorist, named as Adil Chopaan, was killed by the security forces in the forest area of Tral, following the reports of terrorists that they are firing on the police force and he hides in the forest area. During the search operation as they are in forest its hard to identify their location. The gunshots were heard, prompting the security forces to intensify the combing operation.
