Ireland outs India from Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2018

India has been out from the 27th Sultan Azlan Shah cup 2018, Ireland beat Team India by 3-2 and end their journey from this tournament. Now team India will play against Ireland Once again for the 5-6th Place of this tournament. The Sardar Singh-led Indian hockey team went down to World No.10 Ireland in their last league game of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2018 in Ipoh today. Since they were leading in the first Quarter of the match but lack of concentration could not save them from the loss. Till yet, Only world Champion Australia has been Qualified for the Finals. Now next match between England and Malaysia will decide whether England, Malaysia or Argentina play in the final. India was playing with Stars– Sardar Singh, Surender Kumar, Varun Kumar, Amit Rohitdas, Suraj karkera and others.

In the first Quarter, India was taking on minnows Ireland because they are yet to win a single game in this tournament. Before this match, India has so far won one, lost two and drawn one, and they were Fourth on the Points Table. In this tournament, India lost the first match against Argentina, then they played a draw with English Team, and in the third game, they were beaten by World-Champion Australia. So from Ranking point of view, it was a crucial match for team India.

Now team India has out from the Tournament, so the 5-6th place match will only be a Formality. In last year Azlan Shah Cup, India ended the tournament with 3rd place.
