Children’s Day or Bal Divas is celebrated is celebrated on 14 November, honoring the birthday of India’s first prime minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. They told, “The children of today will make the India of tomorrow, the way we bring them up will determine the future of the country.” For his fond love towards children, he got the title of Chacha Nehru or Chacha Ji. The universal children’s day was celebrated on 20th November, But after the death of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1964 India decided to celebrate Children’s day on 14th November. Schools in India organize various events or function to celebrate children’s day on this date. Speech competitions are also held in the school and colleges.

Children like to tell about their “Chacha Nehru” and “role of children to make future of the country” in their speech. Here is one simple speech for school children, on “Children’s day”.

Good morning everyone, today it is a very propitious event of children’s day, which is celebrated in the remembrance of Jawaharlal Nehru. For his fond love and affection towards children, he got the title of “Chacha Nehru” and “Chacha Ji” from children. As we all agree children are the seeds of the plant which will give us sweet fruits and they are the bright sunshine of the society with great future. They are staying with the positive innocent truth and growing with moral values.

Children’s day is celebrated all over in the world to adore the innocence of a child, to make them feel special for their role for the future. International children’s day is celebrated on 1st of June and 20th of November is celebrated as universal children’s day. While in India after the death of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1964, Children’s day or Bal Diwas is celebrated on 14th November on the birth anniversary of Indian First prime minister. Jawaharlal Nehru left his career and joined Mahatma Gandhi’s group to fight against British empire for freedom of India. For better and bright future each and every child has to do hard work that’s what Chacha Nehru teaches and believed in children.
