Ganesh Chaturthi 2017 begins from 25th August to 5th September. Today is the last day of the Ganesh Chaturthi that is known as Ganesh Visarjan. In Hyderabad, one of the tallest Lord Ganesh Idol installed during Ganesh Chaturthi who is popularly known as Khairtabad Ganesh. Thousands of devotees participate in the 11-day festival and visit the place from other parts of the state. This tallest Khairtabad Ganesh idol immersed in Hussain Sagar lake today on the 11th day.

On this auspicious festival, devotees brought Lord Ganesh to their home with much grandeur. This is the 10-day long festival that will end today. Although this year Ganesh Chaturthi comes for 11 days. The devotees celebrate Lord Ganesha birth anniversary on this festival. The devotees of Lord Ganesh installation the idol of Ganesha to their home for ten days across India and celebrate his birthday. The installation of the idol of Lord Ganesha is popularly known as the Ganesh sthapana in India.

Every year India welcomes the Lord Ganpati grandly with a much excitement and love. The devotees celebrate this week with of lots sweets including the Modak the most favorite sweet of Lord Ganesha, bhajans, songs, and dance. Lord Ganesh is considered as the god of luck, success, and prosperity who showers blessings on his devotees. The Visarjan of Lord Ganesha starts with the Uttarang Pooja that includes the five elements such as fragrance, Deep, food, flowers, and incense. Before leaving the house all the devotees showers the idol of Lord Ganesha with Akshat and the curd with a wish to visit their house again.

Ganesh Visarjan is always done on Anant Chaturdashi Day that is the auspicious choghadiya Muhurat for Ganesh Visarjan. The Ganesh Chaturthi Visarjan timings begin from the 2:14 pm on 4th September 2017 and it ends on 5th September 2017 at 12:41 pm. The morning good timings for visarjan is 09:32 am to 14:11 pm, for the afternoon, is 15:44 pm to 17:17 pm, for the evening, is 20:17 pm to 21:44 pm and for the night is 23:11 pm.
