Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee admitted to AIIMS,Delhi for Routine Check-up

Former prime minister of India and senior BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee,93 was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi in the morning today on the advice of doctors. The doctors have described his visit as a routine checkup.

The doctors of AIIMS has released a statement that his health is ‘stable’. A team of doctors under the supervision of the director of AIIMS,Delhi Dr. Randeep Guleria, a pulmonologist is conducting the tests and are taking care of Vajpayee’s health. as Dr. Guleria has been the former PM’s general physician for over three decades.

According to the official statemtnt of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s office, As per the advice of Doctors, Former PM, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji has been admitted in AIIMS today for [a] routine check-up and investigations. He will be under the supervision of Dr Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS there.

In a latest statement issued later, the former PM’s office said, “Former PM AB Vajpayee has been admitted to AIIMS today for examination and management. He is stable. A team of doctors under the supervision of Dr Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS, are conducting tests.”

 The senior BJP leader AB Vajpayee has served as prime minister of India thrice, briefly in 1996, and for two terms between 1998 and 2004. He is also a distinguished lawmaker and has received the title of India’s Best Parliamentarian’ in 1994. In the year 2015, he was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award.
