DUSU election 2017 results: NSUI wins President and Vice president posts while ABVP racked joint secretary post

DUSU election 2017 results are out now where NSUI won top two posts. The Congress linked NSUI National Students Union of India won the main posts of the Delhi University Students Union elections while left two for its RSS backed opposition Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) that is linked to BJP. The ABVP held three posts of the panel. The counting of the votes has begun from 8:30 am in the morning. A recount was held for one of the four posts on the complaint of ABVP.

The victory of the DUSU 2017 elections was seized by top Congress leader. The Congress leader Rahul Gandhi congratulated NSUI students and their stellar performance. He tweeted “Congratulations @nsui on a stellar performance and Pres win in DUSU! Thank students of DU for reposing faith in Congress ideology,”. On Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi gave a speech at the University of California where he talked about the opposition and how politics is politicising in India. He talked about Gandhi in his speech on India at 70 that reflected on contemporary India and the path forward for the world’s largest democracy. Rahul Gandhi is on a two-week visit to the US to interact with global thinkers, political leaders, and overseas Indians.

In 2017 DUSU election results NSUI won the President post. The NSUI has won president’s post for the first time since 2012 elections. The ABVP has dominated the Delhi University elections for past few year against NSUI. However, this year NSUI wins President and Vice president posts while ABVP racked joint secretary post.
