On 15th August that is 70th Independence day 2017 of India timing of Metro trains will be as usual i.e 6 AM to 11 PM . For security concerns on this Independence day 2017 parking facilities will not be available from 14 August 2017 6 AM to 15 August 2017 2 PM. Keeping security concerns of the Independence Day, security agencies and Delhi metro decided to close the parking at all stations. As per DMRC this opportunity will be used by transporters to clean the Parking lots in the Swach Bharat sprit.
This is the first time when Delhi Metro service will not close on 15th August on the occasion of 70th Independence Day 2017.
A notice from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) issued that “Parking facilities of the Delhi metro stations will not be available from 6 a.m. on Monday i.e, August 14, 2017, till 2 p.m. on Tuesday i.e, August 15, 2017, for the security measures adopted on the occasion of Independence Day”.
