Delhi High Court suggests to airlift 108 feet long Hanuman statue of Karol Bagh

On Monday, High Court bench of Acting Chief Justice, Gita Mittal, and Justice C Hari Shankar suggests to Airlift 108 feet Hanuman statue located in Karol Bagh area. While hearing the PIL by an NGO seeking the removal of unauthorized construction in the Karol Bagh area in the capital.Observing the same incident in the United States where entire skyscraper has been relocated. The bench suggested the local bodies to remove Hanuman Statue Near Karol Bagh metro station. In the statement, court says that “at even one place show that the law was being enforced, “the mindset of the people of Delhi would change.”.

The court also said that enough opportunities were given in the past to civic authorities but it seems that no one wants to do it. The matter came up before the court when local authorities were seeking some modification with regards to the police station which would be responsible for the implementation of the court’s order on November 15 which gives direction to remove encroachments from the area.

After modification of the order, the court directed the matter for hearing on November 24. The large statue of Lord Hanuman in Karol Bhaig is often considered as a landmark of the area and has appeared in several Bollywood films and serials.
