Congress expands its research department

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday approved the names of the office-bearers for the Research Department of the AICC, which is headed by Congress Rajya Sabha member Rajeev Gowda.

Ranajit Mukherjee, a party leader from West Bengal, has been appointed Secretary of the Research Department of All India Congress Committee (AICC) and would assist Gowda.

Harsh Vardhan Shyam, former National General Secretary at Indian Youth Congress, has been appointed Joint Secretary of the department.

Amol Deshmukh, son of former two-time President of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee Ranjeet Deshmukh, and National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) leader Maheshmurti Leni S. Jadhav have been appointed national coordinators.

The names were announced by party General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi.
