Congress DPCC unit passes resolution asking Rahul Gandhi as new party president

Today, the DPCC Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee has passed a resolution in favour of AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi for taking over as new President of the party. Rahul Gandhi is a youth leader who chosen as the Vice President of the Congress in 2013 for the Assembly elections of 2014. Similarly, in the wake of 2019 election now Rahul Gandhi to be the President of Congress party by replacing his mother Sonia Gandhi.

Gandhi’s family or the Congress party has a long India political history from late 1920’s. It was founded in 1885 and was the first modern nationalist movement that emerged in the British Empire in Asia and Africa. However, in 2014 the anti-incumbent Congress party lost the election against incumbent NDA. And now the party is preparing for the upcoming elections with some new strategies and campaigning across India.

The DPCC Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, the first State unit of the Congress has passed the resolution after holding elections for its members and also passed the another resolution that was attended by former PM Manmohan Singh asking the All India Congress Committee to nominate its president. And as per the rules, the members of the State unit are supposed to elect a party president.
