CBSE demands re-examination for Class 10 Maths, Class 12 Economics

CBSE, has now demanded that there will be re-examination for Class 10 Maths and Class 12 Economics, after it was reported that the exam papers of these two subjects had been leaked. The statement by the CBSE board stated, “Board has taken cognizance of certain happenings in the conduct of certain examinations as are being reported.” Meaning that the board took notice of the reports, “With the view to uphold the sanctity of the Board Examinations and in the interest of the fairness to the students, the Board has decided to reconduct the examinations in the following subjects (Class XII — Economics and Class X Mathematics).”

The board has also stated that the dates of the examinations will be announced soon. The Maths exams for Class 10 was held today, while the Economics examination was held on Monday.

The news about the leak spread when a handwritten examination paper of for economics was circulated through Whatsapp. This was confirmed when many questions in the handwritten paper were matched with the actual examination paper. Students have said that the paper wasn’t too difficult. The theory paper was of 80 marks, as the board recently changed the marking scheme for the economics papers, so that there is 20 marks practical introduced too.
