Bihar Cabinet increases 1-5% registration fees on all Vehicles

Now buying two and four wheelers in Bihar will be costly. The government has increased the registration fee on the basis of X showroom value of vehicles in the state. Addressing the reporters after the meeting of the State Council of Ministers under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Cabinet Secretariat Arun Kumar Singh gave this information to the Council of Ministers. He told that the government has increased the tax on the ex-showroom price from 1 to 5 percent. This increase is applicable from next month.

8% of the ex-showroom price of the vehicle by lump sum on the motorcycle, taxi, motor cab and maxi cab up to Rs. Arun said that the Council of Ministers has approved the implementation of the scheme of Rs. 94.05 crore in the financial year 2018-19 for the Kisan Advisory Scheme.

Arun said that in the financial year 2018-19, administrative approval of the technically approved estimate of Rs. 30.50 crores for the construction work of Annexe Bhavan (G5), Staff Quarter (G3) and Dormitory (G3) of Patna Guest House under the State Planning Department has been provided. Arun said that the Council of Ministers discussed and approved 25 subjects.

Mr Singh said that 8 per cent tax would be imposed on ex-showroom price, which is not more than Rs 1 lakh on the sale of a new motorcycle, taxi, motor cab or maxi cab for 15 years. Similarly, commercial vehicles with prices in the range of Rs one lakh to 8 lakh would attract the tax of 9 per cent of their ex-show room prices at the time of registration.
