Bhai Dooj/Bhai Tika is a festival celebrated on second lunar day Shukla Paksha of Kartik month of Hindu Calendar. It is not only celebrated in India as well as in Nepal. This festival reveals the love of brother and sister. According to Hindu mythology, after killing the demon Narakasura, Lord Krishna visited his sister Subhadra house. She welcomes her brother with sweets and flowers. She also affectionately applied Tika on Lord Krishna’s forehead, Hindu people believe this was the origin of Bhai dooj festival. According to astrologists this year Shubh Muhurat for Bhai Dooj Tika is from 1:15 PM to 3:30 PM on 21 October.
