Single entrance test to be held from 2019 for engineering student. AICTE has asked all the states to share their view regarding the idea of bringing a single entrance test for engineering students. All India Council of Technical Education wants to adopt the same system that is followed for medical entrance exam. As now all the admission to MBBS and BDS colleges are made through a single cum test named NEET. However, this decision is welcomed by kerala state but still AICTE faces many hurdles in adopting this system soon. AICTE wants to make this decision implemented by 2019 but still many states approval are yet to come.
This idea was first suggested by MRHD last year but still no improvement was made in this decision. Many states are of the opinion that a single round should also be done for students seeking screening test for the entrance test. Many officials of the AICTE has approved of introducing a single cum entrance test for engineering students. AICTE had tried before also for introducing a single test for engineering students. By introducing this system, the number of JEE Mains and Advance seats will also be increased. A lot of students will get admission to B-Tech colleges through this. When this system will be introduced, all the paid seat will hold no value.
AICTE has approved many states for introducing this proposal but AICTE finds it difficult to be introduced by next year as many hurdles and questions are already raised up against this proposal. This year every state, every university is conducting different exams for admission to B-Tech colleges. NEET is a single exam for all the MBBS student. It gives admission to all the colleges that are affliciated to it.
