Ahoi Ashtami is celebrated on 12 October, eight days before Diwali festival. It is one of the significant festival celebrated in India. On the Ahoi Ashtami, women draw a photo of Aahoi mata on wall and observe fast for the whole day without food and water for the long life of their sons. They do puja, katha and arti of ahoi mata and offer rice and milk as a prashad during Ahoi ashtami vrat. Mother also prepare variety of Indian traditional food like Puri, halwa, kheer and other sweets to follow the rituals of the festival. It is believed that ahoi mata/Maa Ahoi Bhagwati fulfill all wishes of their devotees and blessed them with healthy and wealthy life.
