Ahmedabad lashed with heavy rainfall, must avoid these areas during heavy monsoon showers

Ahmedabad is lashed up with heavy rainfall over the last two days. This affected the railway as five trains are being cancelled because of heavy rainfall while seven are rescheduled and 13 got diverted. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned the Gujarat of extremely heavy rainfall across the state on Sunday. According to IMD, the monsoon hits vigorously to the Saurashtra and Kutch regions and over parts of the Gujarat region. On Sunday Ahmedabad received intermittent rain in some parts including Sarkhej, Juhapura, Ashram Road, Navrangpura, Paldi and Maninagar. And the eastern part of the city has light rainfall including in Naroda, Nikol, Odhav, and Bapunagar. Ahmedabad recorded maximum temperature as 28.9°C, 6.6° below normal and minimum temperature as 24.7°C, 1.8° below normal.

As per the reports of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), the state has so far received 108.83 mm of rain and the walled city are have received 125 mm while the areas of the new west zone including Bodakdev, Satellite, Thaltej, Memnagar, Ranip and Gota has received 80.67mm. On Sunday it received 3mm rain from 8 am to 8 pm and the capital of the state Gandhinagar has received 34mm rain from 8 am to 8 pm. In this monsoon, there is no taluka in the state which has not received any rain. And this heavy rainfall in Ahmedabad led to several incidents and problems as the falling of trees were noticed at Dhudheshwar, Usmanpura and Behrampura while the road caved in Shahibaug. And the state has also hit with the water logging problem in the several regions like Kalapinagar and Law Garden.

This heavy rainfall carried out Rescue work at Siddhpur where the 638 people were evacuated well at the time by the local level and Nagar Palika staff members. These people lived in home between two ponds in the town which started to swell water level due to heavy rainfall.
