More than Eight people injured in an acid attack on the victory procession of winning Congress candidate Inayatullah Khan in Tumkur. All the injured people have been admitted to a nearby hospital. In the municipal elections, there is a big shock to the BJP. Congress has emerged as the biggest party. BJP has faced defeat. About this incident, Tumkur’s SP said, after the victory of the Congress candidate, his supporters took out the rally. A person hidden in the same crowd sprinkled acid on people. Some people complained of allergies, which were admitted to the hospital. According to the doctor, the liquid used, it looks like a bathroom cleaner. All the 10 injured people are out of danger now. Police is investigating the case. No one has been arrested till now. A man has filed a complained in this case.

According to the information so far, out of 2267 seats, Congress has won 846 seats, JDS has won 307 seats. While BJP has had to bags 788 seats. Independents candidates have won 277 seats. BJP is ahead in Shimoga along with Tumkur Municipal Corporations in Mysore and Shimoga. Despite this, the municipalities, the wards, and the Nagar Panchayats have lagged behind. In Tumkur, where the attack was carried out — the BJP surged ahead of the Congress with victory on 12 of the 35 city corporation seats, whereas, the Congress and the JD(S) managed to win 10 seats each.
