AAP to launch Metro Fare Satyagraha against Delhi metro rates increase

Aam Admi Party (AAP) to launch Metro Fare Satyagraha against the hike in Delhi metro fares. Aam Admi party announced to take out a rally against metro fare hike on 13th October at 12 pm. The has tweeted today that they will protest against the increase of metro fares two times in a year. And this protest to be taken out on the road from today. And it will be headed by the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal who recently said that they are ready to pay half of the funds to DMRC and asks not to increase the fare.

However, later fares have increased and commenced from the 10th October. Now DMRC charges double rates from the last year. It is the second phase of the rate hike that increased by 2km Rs 10. On Tuesday DMRC has increased the fares of metro despite strong opposition from the AAP led Delhi government.

As per the reports, on Monday Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia called the fare hike as a conspiracy to benefit cab aggregators. DMRC board on Monday rejected the demands of AAP and go ahead with the fare hike. In the wake of this fare hike decision, Aam Admi Party said that it will organise the protest against the metro rates hike from 10th October, today. And it will hold ‘gherao’ the Urban Development ministry on October 13.
