7th Pay Commission Latest updates: Gratuity and Maternity leave enhances

Union Government has increased Gratuity and Maternity leave under the 7th Pay commission. However, the Minimum Pay hike under the seventh pay commission recommendations is still processing by the government. It’s been almost three years, since the Central Government employees are facing the confusion regarding the minimum pay hike. Although, from the last two month the government is ensuring the employees to raise minimum pay and fitment factor for the Central government employees under the recommendations of the 7th pay commission. Earlier, the several media organisation have suggested that government will soon raise the basic pay of employees.

The earlier reports of the media were not the official. Now the reports are coming that government is still processing the recommendations of the 7th pay commission. Last Month, the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had confirmed that the government will soon hike the pay of Central Government employees. Whereas on another hand, the Central Government employees are eagerly waiting for the hike in minimum pay. Also, the employees are continuously demanding to raise the minimum pay from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 26,000.

Furthermore, the government on Monday introduced a bill in the Lok Sabha which will allow notifying the maternity period leave and gratuity that can be availed by employees under a central law. However, the payment of Gratuity (Amendment) Bill, 2017 was introduced by the Labour Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar in the Parliament house. The act named Payment of Gratuity was enacted to provide the gratuity payment to the central government employees who are engaged in the factories, mines, oilfields, ports, railways, plantations, companies and shops. It is for the employees who have completed their five years in the government service. The Union Government has raised the ceiling of gratuity amount for employees to Rs 20 lakh from Rs 10 lakh after the implementation of 7th Pay Commission.
